"A Couple to Remember" is a very special painting
that was commissioned by a close friend of Eric's. It was a
surprise wedding gift presented to his bride at their reception.
This painting tells the story of their romantic engagement which
began with a proposal at the Lone Cypress on 17 Mile Drive,
near Carmel California; notice the postcard of the “lone cypress”
on the desk reflected in the two wine glasses. An excursion
to the Napa Valley rounded out that special California trip
with a visit to the bride’s favorite winery “Paraduxx” with
the two bottles depicted in the painting. The subtle suggestion
of repeating (2’s) in the composition is where the painting
gets its name. Eric’s inclusion of the flowers from the bride’s
wedding bouquet and the wedding rings make this painting a very
special one for this couple for many years to come.
