This painting was named for the place that inspired it, the Silverado trail that runs through the east side of the Napa Valley. The oversized jar of fruit, filled with cranberries and kumquats, the peaches and casaba melon all represent the abundance found in this area of the country. The wine represents the lifestyle, which is a rich one filled with good things and time to relax. The tree outside the window is a lemon tree with young fruit, which symbolizes great prospects for the future. Colors in this painting are very reminiscent of a Renaissance allegorical painting.
