Tangerines
and Tapestry is a “good luck” painting symbolized by the tangerines,
given out on Chinese New Year, the red flower for money and
luck, and the Chinese prayer stick and it’s poem wishing good
luck to the family of the house. This painting has several contrasting
textures. The bumpy tangerine surfaces, the waxy flower, and
the tapestry of a rough woolen weave. The flower is a Waratah
Protea from New South Wales, Australia.
